nailed it
more than anything else, I worry about how people perceive my nails.
“All services offered during the Sandy Hook Green Salon-a-Thon at Ricci’s Salon & Spa include a bottle of OPI Sandy Hook Green, a special limited edition shade being donated by the nail lacquer manufacturer. A $10 donation to Sandy Hook Promise will also result in a bottle of the nail polish.”
May 19th in my hometown Newtown, CT.
Yesterday I went out for Shira’s birthday and came home after a few beers. Then I tried to cut a piece of fried catfish on a ceramic plate with a massive knife and shockingly all I managed to do was brutalize the fish and hack into the nail on my index finger. I guess what I’m saying is I’m having a hard time with nails these days.
Thia’s Nails in Des Moines, IA
- All the (Asian) staff speak perfect English.
- My nail tech was a man.
- His name was Polo and he’s lived in Iowa for 17 years.
- Three other middle-aged white women were there getting their acrylics touched up.
- Polo tried to up-sell me a shellac manicure but I declined.
- A woman at the drying station told me she puts cocoa powder in her chili, and you can’t tell but it makes the flavor a lot richer.
Overall, A+ definitely visit Thia’s Nails next to the Des Moines airport.
I got stuck in Iowa and all I got was this shitty manicure.
